CH. FOGELHUND SNIP O SNOW SHELBY AM.SH, FD, CD, CGC.

aka: SHELBY

Shelby was a liver and white Shorthair. She was born October 8, 1996. She was the daughter of the famous male Shorthair, DC AFC Trekker v. Grunbaum MH. UDX. TDX. OAX. CGC. (aka: TREKKER =The most AKC Titled German Shorthaired Pointer in History) and  2X NSTRA CH. SNIP'S GIDGET SH. (OFA Exc.) aka: Gidget.

By the age of one, Shelby earned her Show Champion Title (CH.). Some of her wins included a Group 4th, Best of Breed, Best Puppy, and she also won several Puppy Sweepstakes. Her first weekend out, Shelby had completed two of her qualifiers towards her Field Dog Title. Her first day out, the following spring of 1998, Shelby finished her Canadian Field Dog Title (FD.). Shelby is a beautiful dog to watch in the field. In the spring of 1999, Shelby earned her Canine Good Citizen Title (CGC.). She had just started showing in the United States, in 1999, and her first weekend out acquired two points from a Best of Winners win. We hoped to complete her U.S. Show Champion, when she was not busy being a mom. Shelby completed her American Senior Hunter Title (Am.SH.) in May 2001, with five qualifiers. She completed her entire Canadian Companion Dog Title (CD.) in one weekend of October 29th, 2000. She received two 2nd placements and one 3rd that weekend. Shelby was also working on her Canadian Field Dog Excellent title. Shelby was very capable and it was obviously in her blood to do well at whatever she tackled.  In the year 2000, Shelby was bred to Wildwing (see home page) and they produced some very beautiful puppies that were definitely field, show and obedience capable (some are posted on our puppy page; "Montana, Indy, Shadow, Carson, Yukon, Valentine, Sox" are some). You will see some of these dogs out at the show ring and in the field. We repeated this breeding in the spring of 2002 and all the pups were reserved before they were born. The litter was born on April 27th (5M, 4F).  We witnessed big things from the litter in their future. By popular demand, Shelby had one more litter in March 2004.

Shelby's hips and eyes were clear.

Unfortunately, and unnecessarily Shelby's life came to a sudden end. Someone purposely put poison out to rid the area where we cottage of rodents. Four dogs, including Shelby came into contact with this poison and all suffered greatly and died needlessly.  Our hearts still ache for the loss of a dear family member taken from us in the prime of her life.

CH. HUNTERSGLEN MERRY MEGAN AM.SH, FD, CD, CGC, Purina 2000 Champion

                                                                                          AKA: MEGAN

Megan was a liver and white, spotted and ticked German Shorthaired Pointer. She was born April 28, 1992. She was 22 1/2" at the shoulder. Megan was a phenomenal little hunting dog.

She acquired her Field Dog Title in two consecutive weekends with top scores and finished with 5 qualifiers. In 1993, she won the Ontario All Pointing Breed Dual Dog Award trophy at their

Field Dog Specialty. In 1993, Megan was #6 Field Dog in Canada and #2 Shorthair. Megan had her Canadian Show Champion title. In 1995, Megan completed 5 qualifiers to earn her American

Senior Hunter Title. In 1999, Megan earned her Canine Good Citizen Title. Megan worked at her American Master Hunter title. She also completed her Companion Dog obedience title.

Since we had not yet established our own kennel name, Megan carried the Huntersglen kennel name, with whom we were good friends. She was the daughter of Ch. Huntersglen Shadow of Baron FD.

(aka: Baron) and Springpoints Lady Kacie (aka: Kacie).

In 2000, Purina kicked off the millennium by hosting a search across North America of all kennels. From this search, 19 kennels were selected, including ours. Megan was chosen as one of Purina's

Champions. We were treated like queens, had a photo shoot, roomed at the Delta Inn in Mississauga and taken to dinner theatre afterwards. Megan was one of 12 chosen to appear in the Purina 2000

Calendar. She was placed in the month of November and forever will remain our "calendar girl".

Megan produced some beautiful puppies and was a very devoted mother. She loved water work and was an avid swimmer. She had a very quiet, calm temperament and was extremely gentle

with children. She was very pleasing to work with and extremely biddable. She was an absolutely wonderful family member in our home. Megan's hips and eyes were clear.

Megan is very dearly missed and holds a special place in our hearts.

CH. HUNTERSGLEN HOGAN FD, AM.JH, CGC.

AKA: HOGAN

Hogan was a liver and white, spotted and ticked, German Shorthaired Pointer. Hogan was one of our original shorthairs and since we had not established our own kennel name bears the name

of the kennel from which he came. Hogan was the son of Ch. Huntersglen Windwalker  (aka: Walker) and Huntersglen Lady Kira (aka: Kira). He was born March 25, 1991. We weighed around

80 lbs and was just under 26" at the shoulder. In 1995, Hogan attended the GSPCA National Specialty in Pennsylvania, USA. From a total entry of 842, Hogan placed 5th in Open Dog and 3rd

in the Hunting Dog Class. Hogan performed fly ball and agility with ease. In 1992, Hogan completed his Canadian Show Champion title. In 1993, Hogan completed his Field Dog Title and won

"Best Field Dog" at the Toronto Sky dome. In 1994, Hogan earned his 4 qualifiers for his American Junior Hunter title and also became pointed towards his American Show Champion title.

In 1995, he earned two of his qualifiers of his American Senior Hunter title (which we never managed to get around to finish).

Hogan loved the water and would play at the lake for hours on end. He was known for his endurance and his large quartering movement in the field. He was OVC hips clear and eyes clear.

Hogan truly was an extremely versatile Shorthair, and quite capable of anything that he tackled. He stood at stud and produced many titled puppies in both field, show and obedience.

Hogan was a very special family pet and we have many wonderful memories as a result of our time together.
