Wildwing is a liver & white, spotted & ticked German Shorthaired Pointer. He was born on April 22, 1998 and is a son of Hogan (see home page) and Bumper (a.k.a.: Volksdawg Von Breeths Mitzy). He is 26" at the shoulder and weighs 80 pounds. Wildwing is a very intelligent and laid-back young dog. He is extremely easy to train and is very willing to please. He has a sweet disposition and is a big "softy".
Wildwing acquired all his show points needed for a show championship in just two of the four weekends he was shown. He repeatedly went Best Puppy. He also went Best of Breed, over Specials, numerous times. On March 27, 1999, Wildwing completed his Canadian Show Championship (CH.). Wildwing also earned his Canine Good Citizen Title (C.G.C.) on February 27, 1999. Wildwing loves waterwork and hunting. Presently, he has qualifiers on his American Senior Hunter title and his Canadian Field Dog title. On October 28th, 2000, he completed his Canadian Companion Dog obedience title (CD.). He received one 2nd placement and two 3rd's doing so. He since ventured to the States for his American Show Champion Title. He earned a 4-Point Major, on his first weekend down. With limited showing, Wildwing completed his American Show Champion Title on January 11, 2003 in Florida. Handler and friend, Jodie Paquette, beautifully showed him. Obviously, Wildwing is an amazing young dog to have earned two titles prior to his turning one year of age. We hope to finish his American Senior Hunter title this year.
Most recently Wildwing was one of our three Shorthairs chosen by Purina for their new dog food promotion. Wildwing can be seen in pet supply stores on their new Purina Pro Plan Selects dog food bags. Wildwing is found on the senior bags of dog food. He can also be viewed in magazines such as Dogs in Canada, Readers Digest and other dog related magazines that advertise this particular dog food. This was a great honour and compliment for us to have had our dogs selected to be on their newest dog food promotion. It is encouraging to know that our diligent hard work is paying off in our breeding program.
Wildwing is a proven male and has sired some very sound, beautiful, field, show and obedience capable puppies over the past few years. We did a repeat breeding of Wildwing to Shelby (see home page) in the spring of 2002. The babies were born April 27th and were gorgeous. We expect big things from these puppies. You can view their newborn photos on the puppy page. Wildwing has continued to sire some very promising litters and always produces his bone and type.
Wildwing is standing at stud to approved bitches. His hips and eyes are clear.
